Velez Sarsfield maintained top spot in Argentina's Clausura tournament with two games to play by beating Godoy Cruz 2-0 on Monday.
Juan Manuel Martinez opened the scoring in the 65th minute, cutting in from the left, beating two defenders in the penalty area and then putting a 15-yard shot past the goalkeeper.
David Ramirez scored in the final minute to secure a vital three points for the Buenos Aires club.
Velez improved to 33 points, one ahead of Lanus, which beat Independiente on Monday. Godoy Cruz is on 28 points.
