The former Coventry keeper has started the last five matches for the Black Cats and taken his chance after injury to Simon Mignolet. Vaughan, who struck a vital equaliser in Sunday's Premier League win over Blackburn, has himself had to wait for an opportunity after his summer move from Blackpool. The Wales international told the club's website: "Keiren has been brilliant - he's come in and really shown what he's all about. "He is a commanding goalkeeper and has taken his chance really well. "There's been some real moments of magic, some great saves, and to come in at Old Trafford for a full debut can't have been easy."
