Van Persie's recovering from ankle surgery

Robin van Persie's recovery from right ankle surgery is going well
and doctors have told Arsenal officials that the striker's career
is not in jeopardy.
Van Persie was injured in a tackle during a friendly while
playing for the Netherlands last month, damaging ligaments in his
ankle.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said Tuesday that there has
been no infection since the surgery.
"When you have such a big surgery, the opinion of the surgeon
is important," Wenger said. "Will he be the player he was before?
We had a clear answer: yes."
Wenger said if the recovery goes extremely well, Van Persie
could be back in April. But the manager acknowledged that May was a
more likely scenario.
"At the moment, he can't do anything. He's just sitting at
home and waiting to work again," Wenger said. "It's virtually the
rest of the season. I haven't personally said that to Robin.
Hopefully, we'll have a good surprise."
