Valencia routs Bursaspor to advance

Valencia routed Turkish club Bursaspor 6-1 Wednesday to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League for the first time in four years.
Roberto Soldado took his Champions League goal tally to five with a brace, while Juanma Mate, Aritz Aduritz and Joaquin Sanchez all scored first-half goals to give the Spanish club a 4-0 lead by halftime.
Soldado and Chori Dominguez completed the rout by scoring either side of Pablo Batalla's 69th-minute goal, which was the first ever away goal for Bursaspor in all UEFA competitions.
Valencia, which beat the Turks 4-0 to open the competition, has 10 points in Group C after matching its biggest ever home win in Europe. Bursaspor remains pointless after its fifth straight defeat.
Manchester United's 1-0 victory at Rangers helped secure Valencia's place in the last 16 with one match to play.
United leads with 13 points going into the group finale against Valencia at Old Trafford. Rangers secured a Europa League place with five points.
Valencia's three group wins were by a combined 13-1 score, but the hosts braved a flurry of chances by the visitors before Omer Erdogan fouled Aduritz inside the area in the 17th minute to set up a penalty that Mata converted for the opener.
Bursaspor made five changes to the lineup that lost to Valencia to open group play but was 2-0 down four minutes later after Soldado fired Mata's smart pass into the far corner.
Aduritz put the Spanish club in full control on the half hour mark as the Spain striker converted his own rebound after Dimitar Ivankov saved his shot from Jordi Alba's cross.
Valencia goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya gave way to Vicente Guaita in the 23rd after being injured.
Joaquin stretched the advantage after taking Alba's pass at the edge of the area in the 37th and watched his hard shot take a deflection off Ibrahim Ozturk to go into the top corner.
Soldado scored his second in the 55th after breaking clear to round Ivankov and hit a sharp shot over two Bursaspor defenders into the top corner.
Batalla finally put the Turkish club on the scoresheet after converting a pass from Sercan Yildirim.
Dominguez ensured that all Valencia forward's got on the scoresheet by restoring the five-goal lead in the 78th with his first goal since joining Valencia last season.
Valencia, which matched its 2001 UEFA Cup result against Legia Warszawa, last reached the last 16 during the 2006-07 season, when it lost to Chelsea in the quarterfinals.
All three Spanish clubs reached the last 16 with Real Madrid and Barcelona topping their respective groups with a game to play.
