Valencia insist there have been no Man United offers for Otamendi

Valencia have not received any offers from Manchester United for Nicholas Otamendi, according to reports.

Newspaper reports have claimed the Argentinian defender has been discussing personal terms with United but a Valencia spokesperson says they have not received any offers for the player.

Valencia say they will not sell Otamendi, 27, for anything less than 50m euros whilst also describing reports of United's Robin van Persie moving to the Mestalla the other way as "nonsense".

Centre-back Otamendi enjoyed another superb season at Valencia, playing 38 times and scoring six goals as they finished fourth in La Liga.

Otamendi is currently on international duty at the Copa America where his Argentina side drew their first game with Paraguay 2-2.

He began his career in his home country with Velez Sarsfield before a move to Porto in 2010. He then moved to Valencia in 2014.
