U.S. midfielder Jermaine Jones will miss the team's World Cup qualifier at Mexico on Tuesday night after spraining his left ankle Friday night in a 1-0 victory over Costa Rica in Commerce City, Colo.
The U.S. Soccer Federation said Sunday that Jones didn't travel with the team to Mexico, and no replacement will be added to the 23-man roster.
Jones was injured in the first half of the game played in a blizzard, and needed two stitches to close a cut. He left the game in the 83rd minute.
