The United States will play a friendly against Scotland in Glasgow as the national team prepares for the 2014 World Cup.
"The game against Scotland is crucial for us because we have so few games between now and when we name the roster for the FIFA World Cup," said manager Jurgen Klinsmann. "It's a huge opportunity for the players, and we are excited to play against a team and in a venue that has so much tradition and history in football."
The match will be staged at Hampden Park on Nov. 15. It will be the seventh meeting between the countries, with the US winning their last game 5-1 last year.
Scotland has failed to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil, while the US is preparing for another appearance in football's showpiece event. The United States qualified for the World Cup by getting the results they needed in Tuesday's CONCACAF regional qualifying.
The United States won 2-0 at home against Mexico and later confirmed their World Cup berth when Honduras drew 2-2 against Panama later Tuesday. Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan scored in the second half for the Americans, which will be playing in a seventh-straight World Cup.
''I'm proud of this team. I'm proud to be a part of it,'' Donovan said. ''These guys put in a lot of hard work over the last two years and to have an opportunity in front of a crowd like this to qualify is pretty special.''
