United States midfielder Michael Bradley has moved from Borussia Moenchengladbach to Chievo Verona, becoming the only American player in Italy's Serie A.

The only other American-born players to have joined Serie A clubs in recent years were Alexi Lalas, Giuseppe Rossi and Oguchi Onyewu.

Lalas played for Padova from 1994-96 after starring for the U.S. team at the 1994 World Cup. Rossi, an Italy international born in New Jersey, played on loan with Parma in 2007, and Onyewu had a brief injury-filled stint with AC Milan in 2009-10, making only one competitive appearance.

Bradley scored 10 goals in 76 league games for Moenchengladbach, having joined from SC Heerenveen in 2008. He was on loan with Aston Villa from January to June last season.

With Bradley still sorting out his club situation, new United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann chose not to call him up for two friendlies next month. The German recently replaced Bradley's father, Bob, as coach of the American national team.
