US goalkeeper signed by top German club

U.S. goalkeeper David Yelldell Bayer has been signed by top German team Leverkusen. He had been playing for Duisburg in Germany's second division.
Yelldell was born in Stuttgart to an American father and a German mother and joined the U.S. team this year.
He is expected to back up Leverkusen's Rene Adler.
Leverkusen will play in the Champions League after finishing second last season in the Bundesliga. The club gave no details about Yelldell's contract.
