Uruguay rallies to beat Switzerland

Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani scored as Uruguay came
from behind to beat Switzerland 3-1 in a friendly between two World
Cup qualifiers.
Captain and midfielder Gokhan Inler gave Switzerland the lead
in the 29th minute by converting a penalty.
Atletico Madrid striker Forlan equalized six minutes later
and Suarez gave Uruguay the lead shortly after the restart.
Cavani came on as a substitute and put the game out of
Switzerland's reach in the 87th minute.
The match in front of 12,540 spectators in the Swiss city of
St. Gallen gave both managers a chance to experiment ahead of
picking their final squads for the June-July tournament in South
Africa.
"I was a little surprised that i played from the beginning,"
said Xherdan Shaqiri, a Kosovo-born midfielder who won his first
cap for Switzerland.
Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld also gave chances to impress to
Davide Chiumento, Jonathan Rossini and Albert Bunjaku.
About the 18-year-old Shaqiri, Hitzfeld said: "He showed
after a nervous beginning and a change of sides, that he is an
option for us."
