Uruguay claimed the 32nd and final berth at next year's World Cup, tying Jordan 0-0 Wednesday night for a 5-0 aggregate win in the South American-Asian playoff.
Uruguay, the last of the 32 teams to book their place at the finals in Brazil, had all-but secured their berth with a crushing 5-0 victory in the first leg in Amman last week.
While the home fans were hungry for goals, the Celeste were in no rush to take any risks.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani was the only man who looked like troubling the visitors as he fired wide after beating two defenders.
Three minutes before the break, defender Diego Godin headed towards goal but the ball rebounded off the bar.
Jordan goalkeeper Mohamad Shatnawi kept Uruguay at bay in the second half, keeping out a Diego Lugano header and Cavani's angled effort.
With the tie well and truly over it was underwhelming stuff at times, but easily enough to send the hosts to Brazil.
"We're all happy because the truth is it's been a hard road," Cavani said. "We have to enjoy it."
"Jordan got what they wanted, a dignified role and a result that I suppose for them is very important," Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez.
Jordan's Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan said: "We played very well, we met a very good team, very strong, with players from different parts of the world. I want Uruguay to have a good World Cup in Brazil."
