Uruguay coach robbed of $500,000 in bank fraud

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has been robbed of about $500,000 in a systematic attack on his back account.

Police officials confirmed the incident on Wednesday and said a domestic employee, Tabarez's sister and brother-in-law were being held. Officials would not confirm the amount, but suggested newspaper accounts was accurate. The newspaper El Pais said the unnamed domestic employee had been making withdrawals since 2008.

Matias Faras, a top official of the Uruguayan Football Association, said he did not expect a comment from Tabarez.
