Uruguay exploited a late collapse by China to win their international friendly in stormy conditions in the central city of Wuhan.
The World Cup semifinalists scored all four goals in the final 20 minutes, starting with a Luis Suarez shot deflected by defender Feng Xiaoting into his own goal.
Edinson Cavani, Chrisan Rodriguez and Sebastian Fernandez added the other three goals, while World Cup Golden Ball winner Diego Forlan helped keep China on the defensive throughout.
Tuesday's loss was the worst for Chinese coach Gao Hongbo since
he took up the job in May, 2009.
