Ukraine held Greece to a 0-0 draw Saturday in the first leg of their playoff for a spot in next year's World Cup, giving the visitors an edge going into the return leg in Donetsk next week.
Both teams started tentatively, with Ukraine creating the first opportunity in the 19th minute. Ruslan Rotan latched on to a through ball by Artem Milevskiy, but his shot went wide.
