UEFA has charged Croatia after a fan invaded the pitch and others set off fireworks and threw objects during a European Championship match against Ireland.

Croatia is the fourth country charged by UEFA for alleged improper conduct by fans during the opening round of matches in Poland and Ukraine.

UEFA is also investigating cases against Russia, Germany and Portugal.

A Croatia fan was tackled by stewards after trying to reach coach Slaven Bilic following a 3-1 win Sunday in Poznan.

After Croatia led 2-1, Ireland's kickoff was delayed while smoke from fireworks cleared at one end of the stadium packed with Croatia fans.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel will review the case on Friday. Croatia is likely to pay a financial penalty.
