Turkey beats Kazakhstan in Euro qualifier

Turkey scored two goals within three minutes Friday en route to a comfortable 3-0 win over Kazakhstan in the teams' first qualifying match for the 2012 European Championship.
Arda Turan opened the scoring for Guus Hiddink's team in the 24th minute with an easy tap-in and Hamit Altintop doubled the lead in the 26th with a volley from a corner. Nihat Kahveci added the third in the 75th after dribbling past goalkeeper Andrei Sidelnikov.
Turkey attacked from the start with both Sabri Sarioglu and Tuncay Sanli coming close early, while Kazakhstan looked to counter attack, with Maksim Azovski and Aleksandr Kislitsyn having efforts on goal.
Turkey will host Belgium on Tuesday in Istanbul while Kazakhstan will travel to Salzburg to face Austria.
