Tottenham maintained the edge over Chelsea in the Premier League's top four, holding its London rival to a 1-1 draw Thursday and keeping a two-point lead in third place.

Emmanuel Adebayor opened the scoring after eight minutes, but the sting was taken out of Tottenham's fast start when Daniel Sturridge tied it 15 minutes later.

Visiting Chelsea lost Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel to injuries in the first half.

Chelsea's second straight draw left it one point above fifth-place Arsenal and 11 points behind leader Manchester City.
