Top two draw blank in Holland

The visitors had the better chances, while Ajax had Rasmus Lindgren sent off in injury-time after a professional foul on PSV's Wilfred Bouma. FC Twente failed to take advantage of the result at the Amsterdam ArenA as they lost their unbeaten home record with a 2-1 reverse against fourth-placed AZ Alkmaar. Twente are now three points off the summit having surrendered a 1-0 lead following the sending off of Douglas in the first half. Luuk De Jong put Twente ahead after 18 minutes but AZ levelled through Rasmus Elm's 32nd-minute strike and won it after 63 minutes when Celso Ortiz notched. Rydell Poepon grabbed a hat-trick as De Graafschap beat Roda 3-1 at the De Vijverberg Stadium. Poepon fired De Graafschap ahead on 23 minutes and added a second two minutes later to put the home side firmly in command. Stijn Huysegems struck a minute before half-time to drag Roda - beaten in only one of their previous seven away matches - back into the match. But Poepon completed his hat-trick on 76 minutes to ensure victory for the hosts. Goals from Davy Propper and Dalibor Stevanovic gave Vitesse Arnhem a 2-0 win over Heracles Almelo which moves them above their opponents and away from the relegation zone. Albert Ferrer's team never looked back after Propper opened the scoring in the fifth minute, although they had to wait until the 86th minute before making the game safe through Stevanovic. In Saturday's other game Excelsior halted a run of nine Eredivisie games without a win as they edged out VVV Venlo 1-0. Roland Bergkamp scored the only goal, following up after Tim Vincken's penalty was saved - an incident which also saw Patrick Paauwe sent off - to arrest a horrible run for the Rotterdam club, who had claimed just one point from a possible 27 prior to this contest.
