Juventus striker Luca Toni has been fined and banned from driving for three months after being caught driving while under the influence of alcohol on Saturday.

Toni was stopped after he left a restaurant in Modena where he had been out with his girlfriend for their anniversary.

A club statement Tuesday highlights that ''the alcohol test revealed an alcohol level of 0.6 g/l (grams per liter), slightly more than the legal limit of 0.5 g/l.''

Toni, who won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, joined Juventus on a free transfer from Genoa in the summer.
