Mexican club Toluca has fired coach Sergio Lugo just six months after appointing him to replace Jose Manuel de la Torre.
De La Torre was named coach of Mexico last October, with his assistant Lugo promoted to replace him.
Toluca, eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League, won just 21 points from 17 matches in the Mexican Clausura and missed out on the playoffs.
The club says it is undergoing an ''integral restructuring'' following the disappointing tournament.
