Osvaldo Gonzalez, Juan Cuevas and Emmanuel Cerda each scored to give Mexican club Toluca a 3-0 victory over the Puerto Rico Islanders on Wednesday in Group D of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Gonzalez scored in the 18th minute, netting a volley from a corner. Cuevas converted a penalty in the 76th after an Islanders player was called for handling the ball in the area, and Cerda scored two minutes into injury time.
Toluca leads the group with seven points from three matches, while Puerto Rico has four points. Mexican teams have won five straight CONCACAF titles and seven of the last nine.
