Toffees chewing over Neill offer

Everton are considering a £750,000 bid from Galatasaray for
defender Lucas Neill, who only moved to Goodison Park in September.
The 31-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Toffees after
becoming a free agent following the end of his contract with West
Ham.
The Australia international has made 12 league and two cup
appearances for David Moyes' side but is yet to play in Europe this
term. Should Everton come to an agreement with Galatasaray, he
would be eligible to play for the Istanbul club in the Europa
League.
While former Millwall, Blackburn and Hammers defender Neill
could be on his way out of Goodison Park, one player who is
revelling in his time at the club is Landon Donovan, who cannot
wait for his home debut on Saturday against high-flying Manchester
City.
The United States international and record goalscorer made
his Toffees debut in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Arsenal, playing
the first 70 minutes. The on-loan American was thrilled by the
reception he received at the Emirates Stadium from the 4,000
travelling fans and was boosted by the chants of 'USA'.
"It was awesome," said the 27-year-old, who is on a 10-week
loan from Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy. "From day
one everyone has been very welcoming.
"When you have that support it certainly helps you on the
field so I look forward to playing at Goodison Park.
"I am hoping I get my home debut this weekend. Sitting in the
stands at the cup tie against Carlisle the week before made me
really want to play.
"Hearing how the fans respond and seeing their passion, I
loved that. You want to play for them and show them something.
"It is a big game against City and they are a team that are
playing very well, but we are playing well too so it will be an
exciting match."
