Costa Rica won't be going to the World Cup this time - it played in the last two - but it has lined up friendlies with qualifiers Argentina and France and is looking for matches with other teams going to South Africa.

Costa Rican officials said on Wednesday the national team will face Argentina on Jan. 26 in the Costa Rican capital San Juan.

A match against France is set for May 25 at a venue to be determined.

Joseph Ramirez, secretary of the Costa Rican federation, told Monumental radio that Greece, Switzerland and both Koreas have inquired about matches.

Costa Rica will be led by interim coach Ronald Gonzalez, who took over for Rene Simoes after the Ticos failed to qualify.
