Taylor set for Magpies return

Taylor has been sidelined since early January after picking up the hamstring problem in the 5-0 home thrashing of West Ham United. The former England Under 21 international is now close to a return and Magpies boss Alan Pardew anticipates being able to call upon Taylor for the visit of Bolton. However, after Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini ensured back-to-back clean sheets against Blackburn and Birmingham, there may not be an immediate recall to the starting line-up for Taylor. "Steven was in the team, was playing well and Mike had to sit it out," said Taylor. "It's vice versa this time because Coloccini and Williamson were terrific on Saturday. "He will play a reserve game against Manchester United next week and then he should be available for our home game against Bolton."
