Switzerland defender Ricardo Rodriguez has signed for Wolfsburg from FC Zurich.
Rodriguez tells Swiss news website www.20min.ch that ''it's the right time to make the move'' to the Bundesliga. He spoke before joining his new club at a training camp in Dubai.
Wolfsburg has reportedly paid an initial ?6 million ($7.6 million) for the 19-year-old left-back on a 4 1/2-year contract.
Rodriguez made his international debut in a 2012 European Championship qualifier against Wales last October. He featured in the Swiss team that won the Under-17 World Cup in 2009, beating host Nigeria in the final.
