Swansea's lackluster form since winning the League Cup showed no sign of improving after being held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The point lifted Southampton eight points clear of the relegation zone and closer to another season of top-flight football, with neither team showing enough quality in the final third to craft a winner.

Nathan Dyer and Michu came closest for Swansea, which has won just once in six games since capturing a first major trophy in its history by beating fourth-tier Bradford in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium in February.

Southampton, which extended its unbeaten run to six games, had a goal disallowed when forward Adam Lallana bundled the ball in with his hand just before halftime.
