Swans boss looks at Liptak

Rodgers is in the market for a new defender due to a defensive crisis on his hands at the Liberty Stadium. The Premier League new boys are short of cover at centre-back after seeing a move for Rafik Halliche blocked by Fifa and Steven Caulker ruled out of action for two months. Rodgers admitted he was scouring the free agent market in a bid to bring in a new defender and Liptak could be his target. The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Hungarian champions Videoton last month. Liptak, who has had spells at Southend, Stevenage and Southampton in the past, has admitted he is linking up with a Premier League club for a trial, but he refused to reveal the identity of the team. "I'm on trial at a Premier League club but I don't want to say anymore," Liptak told Nemzeti Sport. "I wouldn't even call it a trial, I would say we try to get to know each other. "I got the chance last Saturday, I travelled there on Sunday and attend my first training on Tuesday. "There'll be a friendly game between the squad members on Wednesday and after this my future will be decided. On the weekend I may be ready to sit on the bench."
