Super Sergio seals win for Willem II

Stefan Nijland fired Willem II in front after 26 minutes, but Fred Benson equalised four minutes later in Friday night's Dutch Eredivisie game. Willem II had to wait until 10 minutes from time to strike the winner to claim a fifth win of the season. It was RKC's 16th loss from 20 games this term and they lie three points adrift at the foot of the standings. RKC suffered an early blow as Wouter Gudde was substituted after 24 minutes with a mystery injury and two minutes later they were behind. Zijler advanced up the left and beat three defenders before crossing for Nijland to shoot into the top right from 10 yards. But RKC responded swiftly, levelling after 32 minutes. Derk Boerrigter drifted past Marciano Bruma and crossed for Benson to net in the bottom corner from close range. Willem II almost immediately went in front again from the restart, when Said Boutahar shot from long range, forcing Ohgad Levita to save. The hosts had another opportunity to restore the lead, but Frank Demouge could only head Nijland's cross wide. RKC's Benjamin de Ceulaer shot wide early in the second period before Danny Schenkel did the same at the other end. It was a poor second period, but Willem II found themselves a winner when Zijler dispossessed RKC's Dustley Mulder and found the bottom corner.
