Strikers Ruiz, Saborio named in Costa Rica squad

Interim coach Ronald Gonzalez has called up star strikers Bryan Ruiz and Alvaro Saborio for friendly matches next month against Panama and Jamaica.
Gonzalez announced the team Friday for matches on Sept. 3 against Panama and Sept. 5 against Jamaica.
Except for Ruiz, who plays for Dutch club Twente, and Saborio, who is with Real Salt Lake in the MLS, most of the squad is made up of players with Costa Rican clubs.
Gonzalez is expected to be replaced by a full-time coach. Former Mexico coach Ricardo La Volpe is the top candidate and has said he is close to signing a deal.
