Marco Storari is set to become a Juventus player after completing his medical with the club.

The goalkeeper will sign a three-year contract with Juventus on Wednesday.

"I'm extremely happy to be joining Juventus, it is an honor to play for this team," Storari told reporters. "I accepted Juventus' proposal because it is a great club."

Storari was at AC Milan last season, but joined Sampdoria on loan from January until the end of the campaign. He conceded 14 goals in 19 games to help Sampdoria qualify for the Champions League.

The 32-year-old Storari has been signed as cover for Italy national-team goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, but there is a chance he could start the season as first choice after Buffon suffered a back injury at the World Cup.

"It doesn't scare me," Storari said. "I was up against (Christian) Abbiati, Dida and (Zeljko) Kalac at Milan and from being fourth choice goalkeeper I became the first choice. I'll just get on with doing my best."

Storari will be Juventus' second signing of the summer after Italy winger Simone Pepe joined on a season-long loan, with the option to sign permanently after 12 months.
