St Mirren head the early Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League table after a 2-0 victory over Dundee at Dens Park.

With Celtic not in action this week and Hearts due to play on Sunday, goals from Kenny McLean and Sam Parkin see the Paisley side take a turn at the top.

McLean scored with a magnificent 35-yard shot six minutes from the interval while Parkin clinched the points in the 62nd minute when he controlled a Dougie Imrie cross before slotting the ball home.

Inverness and Kilmarnock had to share the points as they drew 1-1 at the Caledonian Stadium.

Andrew Shinnie gave the home side the lead after just eight minutes but Manuel Pascali levelled the scores just before the break.

The home side had to play the last 11 minutes of time with just 10 men after Owain Tudur-Jones was sent off for violent conduct, but they managed to hold on.

Motherwell and St Johnstone also drew 1-1, with Murray Davidson giving the visiting side a 58th-minute lead.

Bob McHugh hit back 20 minutes later and it was honours even at full time.

Ross County continued their long unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The Dons enjoyed the better of the chances with Gavin Rae guilty of heading wide in the best opening, but the Staggies defended resolutely to make it 36 league games without defeat.
