Spartak rule out raid for Reds' Riera

Spartak Moscow have ruled out a loan move for Liverpool midfielder
Albert Riera because of the Spaniard's financial demands.
The outspoken winger has been told that he has no future at
Anfield after a verbal attack against the managerial techniques of
Rafa Benitez.
Two weeks ago it appeared that Riera was set to join Spartak
on loan as the Russian transfer window is still open, but the deal
collapsed.
The 27-year-old has since attempted to regain the faith of
Benitez, however, the Liverpool boss has stated that there is no
way back.
Riera, though, could be forced to wait until the summer for a
move, with Spartak Moscow manager Valery Karpin saying in the Daily
Mail: "I can tell you why the transfer didn't happen.
"Riera wanted to go to Spartak to hit the jackpot. We made
him understand that this wouldn't happen with us.
"I can say there will be no acquisitions before the transfer
window closes."
