Javier Tebas has been elected the new president of the Spanish football league.

Tebas ran unopposed to replace Jose Luis Astiazaran after he decided to not seek a third four-year term.

Tebas, born in 1962, is a sports lawyer and former president of Huesca football club. He was a vice president of the league before winning the presidency.

Tebas says that one of his priorities will be reducing ticket prices to increase attendance at games.
