Spain's football federation says that Sergio Busquets and Inigo Martinez will miss the national team's World Cup qualifier against Finland on Friday as well as an upcoming friendly against Chile.
The federation said in a statement Monday that both internationals have suffered muscle injuries and have been undergoing medical tests at their clubs.
Barcelona says in a statement that Busquets has a muscle strain.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Javi Garcia of Manchester City and 23-year-old newcomer Ignacio ''Nacho'' Fernandez from Real Madrid as replacements.
