Second-half goals by Kim Kyung-jung and Jang Hyun-soo lifted South Korea to a 2-0 victory over Mali on Saturday in the opening match in Group A of the Under-20 World Cup.
Kim scored in the 50th and Jang converted a penalty in the 80th.
The start of the match was delayed by an hour when driving rain pelted the Colombian capital. The rain continued throughout much of the match, although the pitch held up well despite the deluge.
