Sorensen reveals Potters' offer

BY foxsports • November 10, 2011

The 35-year-old goalkeeper has been with the Staffordshire outfit since 2008, but over the last year has slipped behind Asmir Begovic in the pecking order, tending only to feature in cup matches. "Stoke have given me a contract offer. It is something I have to consider," said Sorensen, quoted in The Sentinel. The Potters' progress to the FA Cup final last season and participation in the Europa League this term has seen Sorensen get fairly regular action. However, the Denmark stopper knows the games could dry up for him if Stoke exit those competitions - they are already out of the Carling Cup - and he does not want to spend the build-up to Euro 2012 sat on the bench. "If we have a long run in the Europa League and the FA Cup in the spring, there will be many games for me," Sorensen said. "But you can't be sure of that - and towards the European Championships, of course, I would like to play some games."
