Sevilla has fired coach Marcelino Garcia Toral after the Spanish club's seventh straight league game without a win, making him the eighth of the 20 La Liga coaches let go since the start of the season.
Sevilla (6-7-8) lost 2-1 Sunday to Villarreal and is in 11th place following five defeats in seven games. It is six points back of the last Champions League berth.
Sevilla did not name a replacement for Marcelino, who was in charge for just 21 games, winning six of them.
