Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik scored second-half goals to lead Slovakia over Northern Ireland 2-1 in their opening World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
Skrtel scored off a cross from Marek Sarapa in the 46th minute and Hamsik added the second on a solo effort from inside the area in the 70th.
