Defending champion Shakhtar Donetsk romped to a 4-0 victory over Toulouse and Benfica hit three goals in six minutes in thumping Everton 5-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.
Luis Fernandinho scored twice as Shakhtar made it three wins in three Group J games against the struggling French club, and Luiz Adriano and Tomas Hubschman added further goals for the Ukrainian side in Donetsk.
