Sevilla says striker Luis Fabiano will be sidelined for six weeks with a torn leg muscle.
The Brazil forward exited Sunday's 2-0 loss at Athletic Bilbao after injuring his right leg in the 70th minute. Sevilla says medical scans Monday showed the muscle tear was not as serious as previously thought.
Luis Fabiano will miss Sunday's match against Spanish leader Barcelona.
Sevilla also says striker Alvaro Negredo needed nine stitches to his forehead after two separate collisions during the match at the San Mames Stadium.
