The Seattle Sounders moved into their third straight U.S. Open Cup final with a 1-0 win over Dallas on Friday, and will face the Chicago Fire, who beat the second-tier Richmond Kickers 2-1.

Seattle's Fredy Montero finally cashed in on the hosts' numerous chances with a curling left-footed goal late in the 40th minute, moments after he had missed with an ambitious bicycle kick.

Marvin Chavez had a chance in stoppage time to equalize for Dallas but with the net wide open he shot over the crossbar.

Chicago ended the impressive run of USL Pro team Richmond, which had beaten Columbus and Kansas City of MLS to advance to the semifinals.

Kickers defender William Yomby cut the lead in half in the 68th minute, heading home off the crossbar.
