Seaman: Gunners in safe hands

Fabianski bounced back from a series of errors towards the end of last season to establish himself as the Gunners' number one this year, before a shoulder injury ruled him out of the rest of the campaign in January. Aside from his costly mix-up with Laurent Koscielny in the Carling Cup final, 21-year-old Szczesny has performed well in his compatriot's absence, but there are doubts among Arsenal fans that either stopper is good enough to resolve the goalkeeping problem that has dogged the Londoners since Seaman left the club in 2003. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger lodged bids to sign Mark Schwarzer and Pepe Reina last year and he could be back in the market for a keeper this summer. But Seaman, who made 564 appearances during a 13-year stint at the club, thinks the Frenchman should keep the faith with his young Poles. "They are great goalkeepers. I just want them to show people what they can do because I have seen what they can do in training," Seaman told Arsenal TV Online. "At the moment, obviously with Szczesny it's very early but with Fabianski he hasn't shown what he is capable of. That's the frustrating part about him, but they are two good goalkeepers with great futures. They have some great goalkeeping coaches down at Arsenal and we have yet to see the best of them."
