Francis Jeffers scored on his first start for Motherwell in a 2-1 victory at Aberdeen on Tuesday that lifted his new side up to fifth in the Scottish Premier League.
Sone Aluko put the home side ahead after three minutes, but Motherwell fought back quickly with Jeffers, who joined from Australian club Newcastle United Jets, heading in a 14th-minute equalizer.
In a bad-tempered second half, Aberdeen captain Paul Hartley was sent off in the 56th for kicking out at midfielder Keith Lasley.
Jamie Murphy secured the win in the 71st after Motherwell, which lost 6-0 to Rangers at the weekend, punished some slack defending.
