Georgios Samaras scored two goals to help Celtic beat Aberdeen 3-0 on Saturday to cement its lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

Samaras' second-half goals came after Scott McDonald had given Celtic the lead in the 39th minute after he connected with Andreas Hinkel's cross.

Samaras headed in Celtic's second goal in the 52nd after Aiden McGeady's cross found him unmarked in the penalty area, and the Greek striker completed the scoring in the 76th.

Celtic are two points ahead of Rangers, which won 3-1 at Falkirk thanks to two goals from Kris Boyd.

Boyd opened the scoring in the 17th with his 150th goal in the Scottish league. His second came in the 36th, after a quick counter attack from Rangers' own half ended with Kenny Miller crossing for Boyd to score.

Pedro Moutinho pulled a goal back for Falkirk in the 41st, but Miller's penalty in the 74th secured the victory for Rangers.

Also Saturday, Dundee United beat St. Mirren 3-2, Kilmarnock won at St. Johnstone 1-0, and Hibernian beat Motherwell 2-0.
