The four divisions in Scottish football will be governed by the same organization after a vote was passed for significant reconstruction of the league system.

The country currently has a Scottish Premier League and three divisions run by the Scottish Football League, but they will come together after the vote by SFL clubs on Wednesday.

SFL chief executive David Longmuir says ''we all accept that Scottish football is better governed under one roof.''

Longmuir added that the process will be completed on June 27 and the new league will be called the ''Scottish Professional Football League.''

A 12-10-10-10 league structure will remain in place, with a playoff introduced involving the team finishing 11th in the top division and those placing second, third and fourth in the league below.
