Bordeaux has filed an appeal with the French football league to
reschedule Lyon's game against Grenoble "to restore sporting
equity."
League leader Bordeaux will face seven-time champion Lyon in
the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal on March 30,
three days after Laurent Blanc's team plays in the French Cup final
against Marseille on Saturday.
Lyon was originally set to face Grenoble in the French league
on Sunday but the game was brought forward to Friday at Lyon's
request.
Bordeaux said in a statement it appealed to the league's
competition organization committee to make Lyon play on Saturday,
March 27, "in order to re-establish the balance between the two
teams in the area of recovery time."
