Racing Santander has hired Marcelino Garcia Toral to replace the fired Miguel Angel Portugal.
Marcelino will coach the Spanish club for a second stint after leading the club to fifth place during the 2007-08 season. The 45-year-old Asturias native then joined then-second-division Zaragoza, who he helped earn promotion only to be fired by the club in the midst of last season.
Marcelino's arrival is the first major move taken by the club's new owner - Gulf-based Indian businessman Ahsan Ali Syed.
Marcelino says ''we will be in condition to win Saturday's game (and) the most important thing is to win'' against Sevilla.
