Russia coach Dick Advocaat has dropped Zenit St. Petersburg midfielders Roman Shirokov and Alexei Ionov from his squad for the European Championship qualifier against Armenia and a friendly against Cameroon.

They are replaced in the 20-man squad by defender Renat Yanbayev and midfielder Denis Glushakov from the Russian league leader Lokomotiv Moscow.

Russia will host Armenia in St. Petersburg on June 7 and play Cameroon in Salzburg, Austria, three days later.

Russia, Slovakia and Ireland are tied at the top of Group B with 10 points from five games each. Armenia, which held Russia to a 0-0 draw in March, is two points behind.
