The France Under-21 international Goulon is available on a free transfer after leaving Le Mans in the summer. A number of clubs expressed an interest in signing Goulon, but Rovers invited him over to England for a trial last month so that Allardyce could have a closer look at him. Goulon is understood to have impressed Rovers' coaching staff and they are now ready to offer him a deal at Ewood Park. Allardyce is keen to bolster his squad and he sees Goulon as a valuable addition to his side.
