Rovers schedule trip to India

The initial trip was called off following the explosions in Mumbai on 13th July, just days before Blackburn were due to fly out. More than 20 people died in the bomb blasts during the evening rush hour three months ago. As originally planned, Rovers will play FC Pune in a friendly during the international break as they become the first Premier League side to tour the country. The game will be played on Friday 7 October, six days after a home clash with Manchester City and eight days before their trip to QPR. The club's Indian owners, Venky's, arranged the deal and director Balaji Rao said: "Security is paramount but so is our commitment to bringing Blackburn Rovers to India. "And perhaps the visit now could not have been better timed. "The club is riding on a high after its big win over Arsenal, and the players are eager to share the glory with their Indian fans."
